Identifying the need, and providing reasonable adjustments in a timely and effective manner, can lead to improved outcomes and experiences for patients and health and care staff.

The voices of those with a learning disability help to engage the audience for this campaign. Our sensitive approach was to work with local people, and identify accessibility considerations such as; colour contrast, legible typestyles, and suitable literacy age. Easy-read versions of the resources have also been created using minimal text and descriptive photographic imagery.

The campaign rollout included the provision of posters, postcards, information booklets, lanyards, and pin badges to GP surgeries and hospitals across the North East and North Cumbria.
